[TOPIC: DETOX SMOOTHIES]

Detoxing is similar to intermittent fasting – where it’s always been around, but more and more people are finding out about it and want to jump on the hype train.

So should you?

Great question – but before we can answer that, we first must know what detoxing even is, right?

I’ll be sure to explain it all more in detail BUT….

Detoxing is so much more than just holding your nose and chugging down that unknown green juice – promising yourself that the benefits will far outweigh the cost of that bitter aftertaste.

I really don’t love the saying “been there – done that” because I feel that we all have our own unique experiences, but with that one – I feel ya.

Hang with me and I’ll show you exactly how to:

→ Understand detoxing and reap incredible benefits

→ Incorporate healthy, detox smoothies that are worth taste buds celebrating!

Let’s jump to it…

What is Detoxing?

Detoxing is the body’s natural way of ridding itself of toxins.

And while most people know detoxing to be a cleanse, not everyone knows that your body is 100% capable of detoxing on its own.

Seriously – too many people are led to believe that if they take these capsules over the next x-amount of days, their colon will finally shout out “H-U-R-R-A-Y!” and all will be great again.

But in reality, our bodies are so intelligent that they can detox themselves all on their own.

Well, under ONE circumstance – we must provide proper nutrition.

But when the body receives nutrients, vitamins, and minerals from healthy foods, the body no longer wants to hold on to the toxic “crap” (for lack of better words…).

So do detox smoothies really help? Keep hanging in there…

The Good - The Bad - The Ugly [Bacteria]

Our gut – the part of the digestive system that contains the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine – is lined with trillions of strains of bacteria.

WAIT! Before you go running – let me reassure you, this can be a very GOOD thing!

See, bacteria can help us to properly break down our foods and have a healthy, happy gut.

This is important because the gut is solely responsible for…

➯ Healthy Digestion

➯ Weight management (and weight loss)

➯ Skin Health

➯ Nutrient Absorption

➯ Heart Health and Cholesterol Levels

➯ Brain Clarity and Mental Health

➯ Hunger and Appetite

➯ Immunity

➯ Bloating and Inflammation

➯ Chronic Illnesses

It’s as simple as this…

☐ Good gut bacteria comes from healthy foods – and beneficial gut microbes help to support the gut with its many, many functions

Bad gut bacteria comes from unhealthy foods – and the inflammatory causing gut microbes hurt our ability to support the gut with its many, many functions

So to sum it up… eating healthy supports the presence of good gut bacteria which allows our bodies to naturally detox the harmful, weight causing, inflammatory toxins.

Top Ten Tasty Detox Smoothies

Far too often people are led to believe that eating healthy has to be bland, boring, or simply – gross.

It makes sticking to eating healthy so much more challenging because it’s far easier to eventually be led astray.

I was completely guilty of this until I learned how to eat an anti inflammatory diet filled with tons of foods that are “approved.”

It took me three years to restore my gut health and eat a palate that I enjoyed simply because I had no idea what I was even doing – and was receiving different advise from everyone.

So when I found the perfect algorithm for health, I vowed that I would put together the ultimate guide to help others detox their body and restore their gut health all in one so they never had to deal with the frustrations I did.

(I’m a teacher by day, can you tell?)
